On March 23 and 24, 2024, Siem Reap will be celebrating French language and francophone cultures in the colours of La Francophonie, which promises to enrich the town with its vibrant cultural diversity.
The organisers are planning to celebrate La Francophonie in Siem Reap with an event dedicated to showcasing the richness of the French language and French-speaking cultures. Scheduled to last two days, the festivities are open to all, especially the local population, and aim to highlight the very essence of La Francophonie, its importance in Cambodia and its role in the country's bid to host the 2026 summit.
The programme for the event will be a genuine cultural, artistic and culinary feast, with an official ceremony, a musette ball open to all, and a wide range of activities. There will be an open day at the École française d'Extrême-Orient, as well as film screenings, Khmer kun performances and dance shows.
The Alliance française will also be offering children's activities, reading workshops and live painting demonstrations at Studio Masa. In addition, various hotels and restaurants will be offering special menus to celebrate the culinary diversity of the Francophonie.
This event will be a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of the Francophonie, to liven up the centre of the provincial capital with exciting activities, and to support Cambodia's bid for the 2026 summit.
Come and share these moments of conviviality and discovery and celebrate the French-speaking world in all its splendour.
