La seconde édition de la Dictée d'Angkor aura lieu le 19 janvier 2025 sur la chaussée ouest d'Angkor Wat, avec l'ambition de promouvoir la littérature et l'écriture khmères. Soutenue par différents ministères et l'Autorité Nationale APSARA, cette initiative est organisée par un groupe de passionnés de littérature khmère.
Lors d'une conférence de presse organisée le 5 janvier 2025, S.E. M. Long Kosal, Directeur Général Adjoint de l'Autorité Nationale APSARA, a souligné l'importance du concours en tant que célébration de la civilisation et d'une tradition d'écriture qui se rattache à la mémoire.
Il a souligné que l'événement n'incitait pas seulement les participants à écrire, mais qu'il constituait également une composante essentielle de l'amélioration des connaissances et de la promotion du tourisme sur le site d'Angkor.
S.E. M. Lim Bunhok, Secrétaire d'Etat du Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et de la Coopération Internationale, a également souligné l'importance de la préservation et de la promotion de la littérature khmère.
Il a souligné que le Khmer possédait une riche histoire linguistique et littéraire, avec des formes écrites présentes sur d'anciens temples. Le concours vise à encourager les participants à écrire le khmer avec précision selon les règles d'orthographe établies et à récompenser ceux qui ont des compétences exceptionnelles en matière d'écriture.
La précédente édition du concours « Dictée d'Angkor » a vu la participation d'environ 1 220 personnes, allant de jeunes enfants à des participants plus âgés, y compris des moines et des étrangers, ainsi que des expatriés cambodgiens vivant à l'étranger.
