Unveiling “Light of Hope”, A New Art Exhibition at Rosewood Phnom Penh

Rosewood Phnom Penh is proud to welcome artist Jimmy Khong to unveil his new exhibition, "Light of Hope," presenting 27 captivating pieces showcasing Cambodia’s stunning beauty and the endless inspiration this country offers him.

The exhibition opened on August 17, 2024, at the Art Gallery, Level 35, Rosewood Phnom Penh, providing art enthusiasts and the general public an opportunity to experience Cambodia's splendor through Jimmy Khong’s masterful works.

"This exhibition not only highlights the exceptional talent of Jimmy Khong, but also celebrates the immense strength and astonishing beauty of Cambodia. We invite everyone to experience this extraordinary collection and be moved by the stories it tells."

Jimmy Khong, a French-Cambodian artist who was born in 1988 and is known for his evocative and profoundly emotional art, has dedicated this exhibition to capturing the essence of Cambodia. The "Light of Hope" is a tribute to his Khmer heritage. From the breathtaking beauty of its temples to the resilience of its people, Cambodia is, for him, an infinite source of inspiration.

In this profoundly personal artistic universe, colored by poetry and spirituality, Jimmy meticulously works with light and shadow to paint expressive portraits. The precision of his brush underscores the features of his subjects and brings out their inner strength.

The exhibition also aims to foster a greater appreciation for Cambodian culture and history. Exhibition visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the stories and emotions that Jimmy Khong’s paintings evoke, gaining a deeper understanding of Cambodia and its continuing legacy of hope and resilience.

"Light of Hope" will be displayed at The Rosewood Phnom Penh Art Gallery till October 16, 2024.
