According to the Ministry of Tourism, Chhay Keur, a protected destination in the southern Cardamom Mountains, is a real paradise for visitors.
This picturesque waterfall offers a unique opportunity to explore the surrounding area during the rainy season. The walk passes through lush green forests, crop fields and rice paddies, providing a fascinating insight into the local culture and environment.
Nestled in the valley of Dang Peng commune in Sre Ambel district, the destination also boasts an impressive waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. The coolness of the waterfall, the chirping of the birds and the refreshing breeze make for a captivating experience for nature-loving tourists.
Access to Chhay Keur is straightforward. From Phnom Penh, proceed to Sre Ambel district in Koh Kong province and turn right at the Sre Ambel bridge onto a gravel road. The station is approximately 214 km from Phnom Penh, 72 km from the Sre Ambel bridge and more than 22 km from the ecotourism community of Chhay Reap.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports would like to clarify that Chhay Reap is not a village, commune or district. However, the name has been used since the 1970s. The road leading to the resort can be used by various modes of transport, including motorbikes, bicycles and cars.
