Sports: Cambodia secures first medal at 10th ITF Asian Taekwondo Championships in India

Cambodian ITF Taekwondo athlete Mr. Sambath Sovanren has won a bronze medal on the first day of the 10th ITF Asian Taekwondo Championships in India.

According to an official of the Cambodia ITF Taekwondo Federation, Sambath Sovanren was victorious in his first match, defeating his Indian counterpart 5-0

Sambath Sovanren proceeded to secure another victory, this time against his Malaysian opponent, with a score of 4-1. However, he was ultimately unsuccessful in the semi-final, losing to the North Korean athlete 1-3.

Cambodia participates to the 10th ITF Asian Taekwondo Championships, which are being held from 21 to 25 August in Bengaluru, India.

The Kingdom delegation for this regional competition is composed of 27 members, of whom 17 are athletes (6 women), and is led by H.E. Keo Remy, President of the Cambodia ITF Taekwondo Federation.
