Solidarity & In Pictures: The AEFC celebrates its Christmas Market at the Raffles Phnom Penh

With dozens of colourful stalls, children's activities organised by the Acacia school, a humorous Father Christmas and a host of handicrafts perfect for end-of-year gifts, there was something for everyone at the traditional Christmas market organised by the Association d'Entraide des Français du Cambodge last Sunday.

The AEFC celebrates its Christmas Market at the Raffles Phnom Penh

Held in the sumptuous premises of the Raffles Hotel Le Royal, several hundred Cambodians, expatriates and friends of the association attended this now classic event, the proceeds from which will help to run this French NGO which comes to the aid of French people in difficulty in the Kingdom.

Handicrafts, clothing, beauty, gastronomy, jewellery and accessories, gadgets - there was nothing lacking in this display of expertise from local craftspeople, other associations or simply small businesses looking to make a name for themselves.

By the end of the morning, the event had already attracted more than 150 visitors, with the organisers expecting around 300 participants as every year.
