Siem Reap & Education: Inauguration of the Lycée Français International Norodom Monineath Sihanouk

Inaugurated on Thursday 12 December 2024, the Lycée Français International (LFI) Norodom Monineath Sihanouk is the successor to the École française de Siem Reap (EFSR). The school has thus officially entered a new era in its history.

In the presence of a host of VIPs, HRH Princess SISOWATH Suthari, on behalf of HM The Queen Mother of Cambodia and accompanied by Mr Jacques PELLET, Ambassador of France, cut the tricolour ribbon

Since the start of the 2024-2025 academic year, the school has been based on its new, modern and spacious campus on the Lum road in Sala Kamreuk. This change marks the beginning of a new phase in the school's forward-looking approach to education for children aged 2 to 15.

Among those in attendance were LIM Bunhok, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, SAMEDY Sivathana, representing the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, and DY Rado, Vice-Governor of Siem Reap Province.

Also in attendance was Guillaume CARIO, Deputy Director General of the Agence pour L'Enseignement Français à l'Etranger (AEFE) and Head of the Asia-Pacific Zone.

Mrs Julia Esteve, President of the Parents' Association (APE), closed the ceremony by thanking all those who had contributed to making this ceremony an exceptional and decisive moment for the school's development.
