Royal Railway PLC. welcomes 60 new flatcars from China to strengthen its freight business

Royal Railway PLC, part of the Royal Group, is pleased to announce the arrival of 60 brand new flatcars from China. This significant addition will further enhance the company's freight service capabilities.

The wagons arrived on the evening of Sunday 1 December 2024 and were successfully unloaded on the morning of Monday 2 December 2024

This marks another important milestone in Royal Railway's commitment to providing efficient and reliable rail freight services throughout Cambodia.

The brand new wagons, sourced from a leading Chinese manufacturer, are designed to accommodate a diverse range of goods including containers, heavy machinery, construction materials and more.

The arrival of these wagons reinforces Royal Railway's ability to provide efficient and reliable logistics solutions to businesses in Cambodia and the region.

Before entering service, the wagons will undergo a full braking test and system check to ensure operational safety. Once this safety protocol has been completed, the wagons will be ready for immediate deployment, seamlessly integrating into Royal Railway's operations to support industries across the country.

The introduction of these wagons will not only increase our capacity, but also optimise the efficiency of our logistics operations.”

This delivery marks the start of Royal Railway's ambitious fleet expansion programme. The 60 wagons are part of a larger order for a further 221 wagons.

The next consignment, comprising 35 wagons, is expected to arrive in 2-3 weeks' time during December 2024, followed by a further consignment of 45 wagons scheduled for January 2025.

This purchase is part of the company's strategic investment plan to enhance Royal Railway's fleet and capabilities. With this latest delivery, the company is consolidating its position as a key player in Cambodia's logistics sector, promoting connectivity and supporting the growth of the country's infrastructure.
