Product of Cambodia: La Plantation, the finest delicatessen in the Kingdom

La Plantation is reaching new heights with its exceptional products made in Kampot. Thanks to its commitment and local talent and know-how, this family-run farm is pursuing its sustainable development project in favour of the Kingdom and local communities by winning the most prestigious awards in the delicatessen sector, as well as labels for its societal and human values.

La Plantation's unwavering commitment to Cambodia

For La Plantation, certifications play an essential role in guaranteeing the quality of its products and its commitment to using environmentally-friendly methods of cultivation and production.

With the ultimate ambition of offering excellent local products to its customers, La Plantation has already been awarded several certifications and labels by official certifying bodies. After assessing its production processes, the working conditions of its employees in the Kampot region and its respect for the age-old traditions of Kampot Pepper cultivation, many of its products have been recognised as unique Kampot Pepper, one of only two peppers in the world to benefit from a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication), registered in 2010 in Cambodia and in 2016 in the European Community.

The Kampot Pepper appellation is governed by specifications and controlled by the KPPA (Kampot Pepper Promotion Association), of which La Plantation is a major active member. Through this commitment, La Plantation plays an essential role in raising the profile of the Kampot Pepper appellation throughout the world, improving the quality of production and providing economic support to small family farms in the region.

What's more, La Plantation is audited each year by the Ecocert teams, this label being awarded following a rigorous process which consists of an independent and impartial assessment of the compliance of cultivation and production techniques with international organic standards.

Thanks to its project based on social values and fair trade, La Plantation has been recognised and validated by the WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) and has also received the Collège Culinaire accreditation, an important recognition of the quality of La Plantation's products.

The various awards won by La Plantation

The Prix Épicures are a valuable recognition of excellence and innovation in the delicatessen sector, and La Plantation is honoured to have won several awards in recent years.

Thanks to the quality and authenticity of its products, La Plantation was awarded a bronze Prix Épicure in 2020 for its Fresh Kampot Pepper with Salt. This unique product left the judges quite surprised by the crunchy experience of fresh pepper. Then, in 2021, the Plantation was awarded the famous Prix Épicures d'Or for its Turmeric flower. A product honoured for its exceptional organoleptic and taste qualities and its unique curcumin content of over 12%. This path to gold didn't stop in 2022, when the Green Kampot Pepper sauce won the Épicures d'Or award for its fresh, unique creation.

More recently, during the 2024 edition of the Prix Épicures, which took place on Monday 29 April 2024, the La Plantation team was able to meet the grocers and food retailers who support its project, in particular by offering the Kampot ranges and products in their shops.

Defending the values of “Fair Trade”, but also committed to the social aspect, La Plantation has once again this year shone the spotlight on Cambodian know-how and the Kingdom's culinary wealth by winning several Épicures Awards. Firstly with Rub Mekong, a blend of spices (plants and citrus fruits), which won the Silver Epicure in the Culinary Aids and Spice Blends category.

In the Condiments, Mustards and Sauces category, La Plantation was awarded the Épicure d'Or for its Sauce Duo de Piments Verts.

And the day ended with the Packaging Prize in the Fine Savoury category for its new range of Rubs (Rub Cacao, Rub Poivre Vert, Rub Mekong and Rub Feu de Camp).

As a result, the Prix Épicures and other awards received by La Plantation, such as ‘Best of Gourmet 2022’ and ‘Great Taste 2023’, are valuable recognition of excellence and innovation in the delicatessen sector. These distinctions testify to La Plantation's unwavering commitment to the quality, freshness and authenticity of its products. These awards inspire the La Plantation teams to pursue their mission of providing exceptional spices while supporting local communities and preserving the environment.
