Photography & Siem Reap : Cambodia in colour according to Alex, an eye on Kampong Phluk

A photographic journey by Alex Berger.

About Alex Berger

Alex Berger is a writer and photographer originally from the USA and based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He currently works as a marketing manager in the advertising technology sector.

Above all, Alex is passionate about photography, video and writing, disciplines he has been pursuing assiduously since 2004. He is also a keen traveller:

“I got the travel bug before I could even walk”.

‘When I was two years old, my family started an annual tradition that lasted right through to university. Once a year, we would pack our bags and cross the border to Mexico for several weeks.

In Year 5, this desire to travel became a reality when we rented our house, packed a year's worth of belongings into four bags and flew to Europe. Once there, we spent 11 months travelling by train, car, bus and boat. During this time, I quickly learned to love foreign cultures, history and the world in general.

I'm a passionate traveller who's always on the move.

“I've currently set foot in over 50 countries on five continents and, since university, I've tried to make at least two international trips a year”.

My favourite style of travel is that of the innkeeper/backpacker, a style of travel that I find both enjoyable and extremely social’.

Kampong Phluk

The floating village of Kampong Phluk remains an attraction, a great opportunity to discover the traditional way of life of these fishing communities on the Great Lake. The village is fairly close to Siem Reap and the boat journey is fairly quick.
