Some photographs of Cambodia by our friend Bryon, a very talented photographer who is also involved in humanitarian work.
Bryon Lippincott is a humanitarian photographer, filmmaker and brand strategist working primarily with humanitarian organisations. His work involves helping NGOs to create photos and videos that ethically convey the organisations' brand message and the impact of their work.
The photographer also works with not-for-profit organisations to develop branding strategies that establish a special bond with donors. To date, he has worked in 13 countries, with over 70 different organisations and clients. Bryon has produced video projects in eight different languages. You can find out more about his work with humanitarian organisations at Sharing Dots.org
According to the photographer:
“I don't think we should ‘document’ people in the humanitarian space, but rather represent them with the images we make”
‘If we represent someone, we speak on their behalf, keeping in mind the best of them’.
“I believe that ethical representation is the ultimate goal of the humanitarian photographer”.
“Ethical portrayal means accurately portraying who they are in a way that highlights their position in the world and improves the way people perceive them”.
