Last Friday, September 18, at 6 p.m., renowned artist Charles Billich and several other celebrated artists participated in an auction to benefit the Shanty Town Spirit Association, headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Ermine Norodom. The event, organized by the Rose Club, took place at the Epidemick gallery in Phnom Penh.
The evening kicked off with speeches by Mr. Tony Francis, representing the Rose Club, followed by Princess Ermine Norodom. Both speakers expressed their gratitude to the Rose Club members for their invaluable support to the Shanty Town Spirit association.
Tony Francis took the opportunity to personally thank the first 51 members of the Rose Club and expressed his goal of reaching 100 members in the coming months. Some notable members include Highground Sky Bar, Chivas, Sensota, the French Embassy in Cambodia, Cambodgemag, Pasta Corner, Lyly Ice Cream, Halys, Saphron F&B Marketing, CM2H, Ask Events, Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia Investment Review, Urban Village, and Stonegrill Restaurant & Bar.
He highlighted the club's objectives: to foster a community of support, benefit members through networking opportunities, and provide ongoing support to the Shanty Town Spirit association. The club organizes gatherings approximately every two months to facilitate member interaction and collaboration.
The French Ambassador, Mr. Jacques Pellet, and his wife were in attendance, along with Mr. Vichet Lor, Vice President of the Cambodia Chinese Commerce Association, and several representatives from the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Sreyneath Reth, Education Ambassador for the Shanty Town Spirit association and Business Developer for the FMC Group, expressed her thanks to the Rose Club members and reiterated the association's mission.
A showcase of Art and Business
The event provided an opportunity to sample the delicious Decossonay champagne, imported directly from France by the Meunier family, owner of the Epidemick Gallery. Marielle Meunier, along with three of her sons, was present. She opened the art gallery as part of her growing business ventures in the Kingdom and aims to offer exclusive exhibitions by world-renowned artists. The gallery, which operates by appointment only, features a rotating collection of art for sale.
Beyond Epidemick Gallery, the MC&Co Investment Co Ltd. group owns two Cambodian businesses: MC&Co Prevention Co., Ltd., Cambodia’s first certified OHS center for workplace safety, and Print&Pack, a packaging and shipping service. The Meunier family has been a steadfast supporter of the Shanty Town Spirit Association. All its companies are active members of the Rose Club.
