Last friday, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received Jeong Marn-ki, Chairman of the Korea Industry Alliance Forum (KIAF), at the PH Grand Hall for a courtesy call.
The Korean businessman informed Samdech Thipadei that he had led a delegation of 50 Korean companies to Cambodia with the objective of exploring investment opportunities, in fulfilment of a promise made during their first meeting.
The chairman added that the companies in the delegation are interested in pursuing investments in a number of key sectors, including engineering, infrastructure development, human resource development in automotive, technical, and technological fields, healthcare and beauty services, general trade systems, and media.
Prime Minister Hun Manet extended a warm welcome to the KIAF delegation visiting Cambodia and expressed his gratitude for their interest in exploring investment opportunities. He highlighted the Royal Government of Cambodia's key priorities, which include infrastructure development, including the construction of international airports, expressways, the improvement and modernisation of railways and deep-water ports, as well as other key infrastructure projects.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei emphasised the importance of developing human capital, particularly in automotive and technology skills to meet the needs of both domestic and international markets.
The Prime Minister set out the Royal Government's policies and incentive mechanisms aimed at creating a highly competitive investment environment. He also highlighted Cambodia's commitment to connecting with regional and global markets through bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements.
At the event, Samdech Thipadei urged the KIAF delegation to maintain communication and collaboration with Cambodia's relevant ministries and institutions to further explore and capitalise on investment opportunities in the country.
