Seen at the recent Canopy Fest X CULT festival in Treellion Park - Koh Pich, Arome Khmer is a fusion music group based in Phnom Penh. They play concerts in various venues around the city, mixing traditional Khmer music with Western influences in the style of Cambodian music from the Golden Age.

This era, from the 1950s to the early 1970s, was characterised by a vibrant mix of Khmer and Western musical styles, often featuring psychedelic guitars and Latin rhythms.
Arome Khmer's shows are helping to revive this musical heritage, which was severely damaged by the Khmer Rouge regime. Despite the difficulties faced by the music industry in Cambodia, groups like Arome Khmer are helping to keep the cultural heritage alive by frequently performing at private events and public concerts.

In recent years, Arome Khmer has taken part in regular residencies and performances in Phnom Penh, showcasing their unique blend of Khmer and Western musical styles. Their music reflects the musical innovation that is shaping Cambodia's contemporary music scene.
