Memorial to the victims of the Pol Pot dictatorship: a crowdfunding campaign for a historic tribute

Next April, the town of Lognes will host the inauguration of a unique memorial dedicated to the victims of the Pol Pot dictatorship in Cambodia.

Supported by the Fragmentis Vitae Asia association as part of the Fragments #KH50 project, this symbolic monument is part of an essential duty to remember

To make this ambitious project a reality, a fund-raising campaign has been launched. In just 30 days, more than 18,888 euros have already been raised, demonstrating the exceptional level of enthusiasm and commitment. But the goal is still within reach: to reach 28,888 euros by 26 January 2025. Every donation counts if we are to give this place of remembrance the dignity it deserves.

A symbolic tribute

Located near the war memorial and a forest, the Memorial's architecture is highly symbolic. Red marble steles will form a hexagon, leaving an open passageway to access the interior, a protected space that embodies freedom regained and dialogue between memories.

“This project is a bridge between the memory of the victims and the hope of a peaceful future”, explains Sun-Lay Tan, chairman of the association and initiator of Fragments #KH50.

A call for solidarity

As the deadline approaches, the association is calling on everyone to get involved. The funds raised will be used to fi nalise the construction and ensure that this place of remembrance can welcome all generations in a dignified and inspiring setting.
