The Gumball 3000, a 1,600 km journey through several countries, brings together a convoy of some 130 high-performance vehicles and a host of celebrities, entrepreneurs and influencers. They will cover hundreds of kilometres across several countries, with Cambodia being one of their stops.
The 25th anniversary rally, which started in Vietnam on 14 September and will finish in Singapore on 22 September, will coincide with the city-state's Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The charity aspect of the rally is just as important. Gumball is raising funds to build a floating football pitch in Kampong Khleang, the largest floating village in Siem Reap province. The Chip Mong group has announced its intention to raise a further $200,000 for the Angkor Children's Hospital.
The rally's participants, who include film stars, artists and social network influencers, are expected to draw huge crowds.
