Cambodia and the World Health Organization (WHO) have co-signed the Cambodia Country Cooperation Strategy 2024-2028 to accelerate health coverage in the country.
The signing of the cooperation strategy took place on the sidelines of the 75th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Western Pacific in Manila, which the Cambodian Minister and his delegation are attending.
H.E. Chheang Ra stressed that the strategy sets out ‘a common vision and joint efforts to improve the health and well-being of the Cambodian people over the next five years, which is fully in line with Cambodia's national pentagonal strategy for jobs, growth, equity, efficiency and sustainability’.
Its strategic priorities also help lay the foundations for achieving Cambodia's Global Health Coverage Roadmap 2024-2035 and the Sustainable Development Goals, notably through integrated, quality-oriented primary healthcare services, he added.
Priorities also focus on promoting the health of individuals, families and communities through activities in the health sector and beyond, and on strengthening the health security system to improve preparedness, response and resilience to high-risk public health emergencies.
