Gastronomy & Recipe of Cambodia : The Nom Lpo'v

This typically Khmer dessert is made from two simple ingredients: pumpkin and palm sugar. It can be found in markets all over the country. This cake has a sweet taste and is perfect as a dessert or snack.

Ingredients

  • 450 g grated pumpkins

  • 120 g rice flour

  • 250 ml coconut milk

  • 120 g rice flour

  • 10 g salt

  • 100g palm sugar

Preparation

  • Peel and wash the pumpkin, then use a small grater

  • Mix the grated pumpkin, salt, melon juice, palm sugar jaggery and rice flour

  • Wrap each part of the mixture in banana leaves and steam for 20 minutes

  • Finally, open the banana leaf and enjoy
