‘Factotum, the hands and faces of Phnom Penh’, a new exhibition of paintings by Li M.H., will open on 9 April 2025 at Sra'Art Studio. This exhibition will offer an intimate exploration of the often unrecognised stories of the workers, capturing their strength, their routine and their artistic talent.

Entitled ‘Factotum’, this series of works delves into the lives of those who, through their work, shape the very fabric of the city. Through bold strokes and complex textures, the artist Li M.H. invites viewers to reflect on the identity and dignity that can be found in even the most ordinary and repetitive tasks. The collection will include a series of original paintings that bring these unsung heroes to life, immortalising their resilience and the artistic quality of their work.
Li M.H.'s unique approach blends realism and abstraction, allowing the viewer to feel the profound beauty of the hands and faces of Phnom Penh's workers. By focusing on the everyday, the artist elevates the role of these individuals, asking the public to reconsider what it really means to see and recognise them.
About the artist
Li Minghang, a Chinese artist, has spent the last four years in Cambodia, where he has put his talents as a graphic designer to good use. Inspired by the dynamic culture and natural beauty of his surroundings, Li infuses his work with a unique blend of Eastern and Western influences.
Li has developed two remarkable series: ‘Love, Art, and the Space in Between (LAASIB)’ and ‘Cats in Khmer #catsinkh’, which have captivated the public with their innovative designs and artistic vision. This blend of cultural influences is reflected in his exploration of labour and identity in ‘The Hands and Faces of Phnom Penh’, where he brings a distinct creative perspective to the daily life of workers in the Cambodian capital.
