Education: Success for the Lycée Français René Descartes Careers and Training Forum

Last Thursday evening, the Lycée Français René Descartes organised a careers and training forum. More than 200 students took part in the event, which gave them the opportunity to meet around thirty representatives from a wide range of professions.

This forum, organised by the Lycée for the last five years, took place on Thursday 12 December, from 5pm to 7pm, at the Lycée Français.

According to the school, “the aim of this event is to enable pupils from 3e to Terminale to visit different stands over a two-hour period, in order to discover a wide range of professionals and existing training programmes. The general idea is to create a dynamic moment where students can visit the stands that interest them and talk openly with the speakers”.

For two hours, students from 3e to Terminale were able to visit the various stands and discover a wide range of professionals and training programmes, from tourism and military cooperation to media and journalism.

Many representatives of the digital, health and well-being, science and translation sectors were also present at this forum, which was held in an excellent atmosphere and saw a number of very curious students asking many pertinent questions about certain careers and the possibilities of pursuing higher education locally or abroad.

Representing the professional press and media professions, Cambodge Mag was much better attended than last year, with more than thirty young visitors. Many questions were asked by the students, particularly about the development of journalism, the different sectors, the career path to follow, and the constraints, joys and difficulties of the profession.

In the end, it was a great meeting between professionals and students, with fruitful exchanges and a perfectly organised event. Each professional was rewarded by the lycée with a magnificent gift box, a much-appreciated gesture that added to the pleasure of having been able to exchange ideas with the school's young people.
