Economy & Cooperation: Cambodia and France discuss agriculture cooperation

On 27 June, H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, and H.E. Jacques Pellet, Ambassador of France to Cambodia, held a discussion at the ministry regarding potential avenues for enhanced cooperation in agriculture between the two countries.

H.E. Dith Tina provided H.E. Jacques Pellet with an overview of Cambodia's policy framework related to food security, sustainable economic growth, and key agricultural policy priorities.

The minister also emphasised the crucial role of private sector and development partner engagement in facilitating the provision of low-interest loans to support the adoption of modern farming techniques by farmer communities.

With adequate support, he added, modern farming communities will be able to produce a significant volume of agricultural products and ensure stable prices for equitable agricultural benefits.
