Cambodian rice Malys Angkor (Phka Romdoul) has won the World's Best Rice 2024 award at the World Rice Conference in Manila, Philippines, announces the Cambodia Rice Federation.
This is the sixth time that Cambodian rice has received this award since its participation in the World Rice Conference, the same source pointed out.
‘We would like to appreciate and thank the farmers and rice growers who work hard to cultivate and mill rice in order to obtain the best price for our country’, said the federation in its press release.
The World Rice Conference was organised in Manila by the International Commodity Institute and The Rice Trader of the United State of America.
The federation's figures show that Cambodia exported 507,029 tonnes of milled rice to foreign markets in the first ten months of this year, earning US$376 million in revenue.
