Rosewood Phnom Penh has unveiled this month its latest art installation, “Under Cambodian Skies – A Three-man Exhibition”, a journey through Cambodian landscapes and everyday life, captured by three remarkable artists – Art Foo, Im Seila and Hom Rith.
Their 62 captivating pieces are a testament to their unique perspectives, each exploring different mediums and presenting new challenges and revelations, offering fresh perspectives on Cambodia’s beauty and culture.
Managing Director of Rosewood Phnom Penh, Daniel Simon, says :

Art Foo (Foo Kwee Horng) was once an art teacher with the Ministry of Education in Singapore, before going on to tutor and lecture at local universities. He was also a supervisor for trainee art teachers with the National Institute of Education. He has been painting in many parts of Cambodia since 2014, and in 2024 published a book entitled, “Under Cambodian Skies”. He now paints full-time and is a brand-ambassador for Royal Talens, Amsterdam.
Hom Rith, born in Kampot province in 1986 and now residing in Siem Reap, was inspired as a child by the paintings he saw on the walls of his local pagoda. Despite being self-taught, he began his career as an artist in 2008 and has ambitions to become globally recognized. Since 2018, he has actively exhibited his works in group shows and had his first solo exhibition in Phnom Penh at Raffles Hotel Le Royal in 2022.
Im Seila was born in Kandal province and is currently living in Phnom Penh. Besides being a freelance artist, he works as an art therapist for children with special needs. After graduating from high school, he started a two-year painting course at the NGO “Youth Development Program”. He then earned a scholarship for the next two years at the Yamada School of Fine Art. He has continued to self-practice and has been active in various local and overseas exhibitions. He was awarded first prize at the 2022 National Watercolor Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Art.
“Under Cambodian Skies – A Three-man Exhibition” is at the Rosewood Phnom Penh Art Gallery on level 35, until August 15, 2024. Entry is free of charge and the exhibition is open 24 hours a day.
