Throughout November 2024, The Peak is offering a series of cultural and sporting events entitled ‘The Peak Prelude - A Journey Begins’. This initiative will enable the public in the capital to (re)discover this area and enjoy all kinds of remarkable events.
During the first week, from 4 to 10 November, the programme included a major event on the theme of sustainable fashion, as well as sporting events featuring martial arts and fencing.
In the centre of the exhibition space, a number of designers were showcasing their creations, allowing the public to stroll around and discover the talents of Muoy Chorm, City2WD, Interwoven, Ainier, ReMade in Cambodia and a number of other highly talented artisans. Not forgetting the food stalls and the local Bodia cosmetics range, which also had a stand with a video booth.
The originality of this initiative was that the fashion designers offered live design workshops, which were a great success.
The highlight of this very fashionable week was Saturday's show, featuring a Taekwondo demonstration followed by a Wushu performance and a fashion show put on by ReMade, which saw the martial arts athletes transformed into models for this unique clothing brand.
ReMade in Cambodia transforms textile waste into wearable products, empowering young local artists while encouraging a circular fashion economy that integrates Khmer culture and environmental sustainability.
Their vision is ‘to create a world where young Cambodian artists transform textile waste into opportunities’.
The evening came to a close with a cocktail party, where the campaign flowed freely as we thanked the large audience and all the talented young artists who are adding that little bit extra to the local fashion scene.
Until 17 November, the same space will be hosting a festival on the theme of organic Khmer cuisine.
