Cambodia & Tourism: This year's Sea Festival to be held in Kampot province

The Sea Festival 2024, the 11th of its kind, will be held in Kampot Province from 13 to 15 December 2024 under the theme “Celebrating Heritage and Coastal Sustainability”, the Ministry of Tourism announced last night.

The festival will be organised by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, Kampot Provincial Administration, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, the Khmer Artists Association, relevant ministries and institutions, as well as many private enterprises.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr Pich Chanmony will preside over the official opening ceremony of the 11th Sea Festival on December 14.

Tis edition will feature a variety of exciting activities, including live concerts, performances, musical entertainment and fireworks; various sports activities and competitions; exhibitions of tourism and general products; food and beverage festivals; and other entertainment activities.

Since 2011, Cambodia has organised the Sea Festival on a rotating basis in the country’s four coastal provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Koh Kong and Kampot to promote the tourism potential of coastal areas and to encourage the participation of the private sector, the general public and other stakeholders in the protection and conservation of marine resources and the beach environment.
