Cambodia: Top firm Evercore Asia interested in investment in several key sectors

Evercore's Asia business has expressed its interest in strengthening cooperation with Cambodia in the renewable energy, healthcare and tourism sectors.

The Chairman also praised Cambodia for its development in all sectors and expressed his appreciation for the Royal Government's introduction of the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1 to achieve the Cambodia Vision 2050.

Keith Magnus is chairman of Evercore's Asia business, a senior managing director and a member of the firm's Management Committee. At Evercore, he has originated and advised across more than 60 completed deals worth over S$270 billion of deal value.

PM Hun Manet welcomed the company's interest and highlighted Cambodia's energy development policy, with the current use of more than 62% renewable energy and a set target of achieving 70% renewable energy use by 2030.

Furthermore, the Cambodian Prime Minister emphasised the introduction of policies to support the health sector, including the strengthening and expansion of health services within the country.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the Kingdom's numerous other potential areas, such as agriculture, manufacturing, finance and banking. In this regard, he encouraged the company to continue discussions with relevant ministries and institutions and to promote linkages and collaboration between the private sector abroad and in Cambodia.
