On February 19, 2025, the APSARA National Authority (ANA) celebrated its 30th anniversary with a religious ceremony at the Bayon Temple, with offerings to 130 monks.

H.E. PHOEURNG Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the APSARA National Authority, alongside distinguished guests including the UNESCO Representative in Cambodia, H.E. Dr Hang Peou, Director General of the APSARA National Authority, the Deputy Directors General, and H.E. Prak Sophon, Governor of Siem Reap Province, as well as other personalities and staff members of the ANA.
HE Dr Hang Peou underscored the important role of the APSARA National Authority in conservation efforts supported by the International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Sites of Angkor (ICC-Angkor) and international partners. He noted that Angkor was removed from the list of endangered heritage sites in 2004, allowing the ANA to focus on sustainable development and conservation. He stressed the importance of taking care of the 112 villages in the Angkor region, which are integral to the preservation of the region's intangible heritage and cultural identity.

Hang Peou attributed the achievements of the APSARA National Authority to the peace and leadership of the Royal Government of Cambodia, dedicating this success to the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk and other national and international leaders committed to the protection of Angkor.
HE Dr PHOEURNG Sackona pointed out that the anniversary celebration not only paid tribute to the establishment of the APSARA National Authority, but also recognized the contributions of former leaders who worked tirelessly to protect the cultural heritage of Angkor.

The minister noted that under the leadership of former Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his successor Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN MANET, significant progress has been made in the fields of tourism and culture, which has enhanced Angkor's appeal to national and international visitors.
