Cambodia, Singapore vow to boost bilateral investment cooperation

Cambodia and Singapore have pledged to boost their cooperation in promoting bilateral investment, starting with priority areas for mutual socio-economic benefits.

The commitment was underscored at the meeting between H.E. Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Board (CIB) of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and Mr Kow Juan Tiang, Executive Director of Enterprise Singapore (ESG), in Singapore yesterday afternoon. AKP

H.E. Chea Vuthy accompanied Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet on a two-day official visit (18-19 June) to Singapore.

Enterprise Singapore is a government agency that promotes enterprise development. The agency works with committed companies to build capabilities, innovate and internationalise, and also supports Singapore's growth as a hub for global trade and start-ups.

The CIB Secretary General emphasised the possibility of working with ESG to strengthen investment cooperation to raise awareness of investment opportunities and potentials in Cambodia's priority sectors such as automobiles and electronics, logistics, and agro-processing including rubber, cashew and cassava processing, etc. for the domestic market and export.

Mr Kow Juan Tiang stressed the need to further strengthen investment cooperation between the two countries to encourage Singapore companies to explore the possibility of investing in Cambodia in agro-processing, agro-food, infrastructure construction, etc.
