Cambodia's national airline, Cambodia Angkor Air, has officially renamed itself ‘Air Cambodia’ and is expanding its domestic and international network.
The airline officially launched its new identity on Friday at an event attended by several hundred representatives from the civil aviation and tourism sectors.
David Zhan, the airline's vice-president and general manager, said that 2024 had been an extraordinary year in which the carrier had achieved tangible results in terms of market performance, safety, service quality, fleet growth and the development of local skills.
“Air Cambodia has played an increasingly important role in promoting people-to-people exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between Central China, Cambodia and ASEAN,” he said.
In 2024, Air Cambodia has purchased three new aircraft, bringing the size of its fleet to 32. As part of its network expansion strategy, the airline will begin flights between Phnom Penh and Bangkok on 17 February. In addition, Air Cambodia plans to introduce new routes to Japan, South Korea and other destinations in the near future, with also the intention to launch intercontinental routes next year.
