Koh Pich's Elysée Tower was lit up in pink this weekend to offer women free breast cancer screenings as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
These screenings, organised by Intercare Hospital and supported by OCIC, Sovannaphum Life, Canadia Bank, Sabay and Sastra Film App Cambodia, enabled women to benefit from early detection, thereby emphasising proactive healthcare.
The pink lighting was designed to deliver a strong visual message, encouraging greater awareness of early detection and highlighting the importance of breast cancer prevention.
According to the World Health Organisation, breast cancer is one of the most common diseases affecting women worldwide, underlining the need for regular screening and proactive healthcare measures.
‘Awareness and early screenings play a crucial role in the fight against breast cancer,’ said Dr Demosthenes Reyes from Intercare Hospital, adding:
‘Encouraging our community to take these steps can make a real difference.’
Offering free screening is a great step in encouraging a more proactive approach to health. Raising awareness about serious issues like breast cancer and emphasizing the importance of early detection can be life-saving. The organizations involved and the supporting institutions deserve to be congratulated! https://slopeplay.org
