The APSARA National Authority, in collaboration with the SIAVB (Syndicat Intercommunal pour l'Assainissement de la Vallée de la Bièvre), France, will install automatic water management stations at Angkor site. This was announced by the authority in a news release issued on 22 May.
On 22 May 2024, H.E. Dr. Hang Peou, Director General of APSARA National Authority, met with Mr. François De Mazières, Mayor of Versailles and President of Versailles Grand Parc, at Versailles City Hall, France. Also present were Mr. Francisque Vigouroux, President of the SIAVB and Chief of Essonne Commune; Mr. Jean-Michel Bordes, Director General of the SIAVB; Mr. Jacques Bellier, President of the AGERA Association; and other technical members such as Mrs. Béatrice Delgado, Mr. Manuel Pluvinage, Mr. Pascal Thévenot and Mr. Srun Kim Ang.
The main discussion was about the support of Versailles City Hall for the “Siem Reap Angkor Water Management Automated Assistance System (SDGERA)” project and the future cooperation between the two institutions.
On the previous day, at the SIAVB headquarters, H.E. Dr. Hang Peou met with Mr. Jean-Michel Bordes, Director General of SIAVB, and Mr. Jacques Bellier, President of AGERA, as well as technical officers from various institutions involved in the project, to review the technical work in preparation for the installation of six automatic water management stations at Angkor in June.
In November 2023, H.E. Dr. PHOEURNG Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of APSARA National Authority, led a delegation to attend a pilot launch of these stations at SIAVB. The test achieved highly efficient results.
On 16 December 2022, the APSARA National Authority and SIAVB signed a Decentralised Cooperation Agreement on the Siem Reap Angkor Water Management Automated Assistance System (SDGERA) project.
