Cambodia & Food and Hospitaly: Full lights on CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2024

CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2024, Cambodia's largest international hotel, restaurant, catering and food services exhibition, and the National Culinary Competition 2024 will take place from 6 to 8 November 2024 in Koh Pich.

The event is scheduled for 6–8 November 2024 at the Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh. It promises to transform the capital into a vibrant hub of world-class cuisine and cutting-edge hospitality trends.

At a press conference held at the Academy of Culinary Arts Cambodia, key figures from Cambodia's hospitality and tourism sectors gathered to generate excitement for the event. In attendance were representatives from the Cambodia Tourism Federation, the Professional Institute of Excellence Association, the Accommodation Association, the Cambodia Restaurant Association, the Cambodia Chefs' Society, the Academy of Culinary Arts Cambodia, the Cambodia Hotel Association, and the Cambodia Spa and Wellness Association.

Ms. Alice Lem, Event & Business Development Director for Malaysia & Cambodia at Informa Markets, announced that CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2024 will feature over 150 exhibitors and is expected to attract more than 12,000 visitors.

"This landmark event reflects the robust growth and immense potential of Cambodia's hospitality industry," she stated.

The hospitality and culinary sectors in Cambodia are experiencing unprecedented growth, driven by an increase in tourism and an expanding domestic market.

"This exhibition is strategically positioned to capitalise on the increased investment in tourism infrastructure and growing appreciation for international cuisine," said Mr. Din Somethearith, President of the Cambodia Tourism Federation.

The exhibition will showcase three key profiles:

Catering Equipment: The exhibition will showcase the latest innovations in commercial kitchen technology, food preparation tools and restaurant supplies
The Food and Beverage section will include: The exhibition will feature a comprehensive range of ingredients, beverages, and finished products from across the globe
Hospitality and Retail: We are pleased to present a range of cutting-edge hospitality services, technology solutions and retail innovations

The exhibition provides a comprehensive platform for industry professionals to showcase their products, source new suppliers, stay ahead of trends and build crucial business relationships.

"It serves as a one-stop centre for businesses of all sizes, facilitating invaluable networking opportunities with key decision-makers, distributors, and potential partners," added Ms. Alice Lem.

A particular highlight of the event will be the National Culinary Competition 2024, which will feature eleven diverse categories that celebrate culinary skill and creativity. The programme includes a range of competitions, including fruit and vegetable carving, a turkey challenge, black box competitions, vegetarian cuisine, wedding cake design, and hospitality skills such as bed making and floral arrangement, as well as sommelier and table setting competitions. The competition is made possible through collaborations with key industry partners, including KSLM, USA Poultry, CAPFISH CAPTURE-UNIDO, and HITEC Water.

This year's National Culinary Competition will set a new standard for culinary excellence. "We have designed challenges that test technical skills and celebrate Cambodia's rich culinary heritage and fusion with international cuisine," said Mr. Song Teng, President of the Cambodia Chefs' Society (CCS).

"CAMFOOD & CAMHOTEL 2024 will play a vital role in helping our industry adapt to post-pandemic trends, introducing sustainable practices, contactless technologies, and wellness-focused solutions," said Oknha Hy Sothea, President of The Cambodia Hotel Association.

The press conference concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Cambodia Tourism Federation and Informa Markets. This MOU paves the way for joint initiatives focused on knowledge-sharing workshops, industry best practice exchange programmes, and collaborative marketing efforts to promote Cambodia as a world-class hospitality destination.
