Furthermore, the Prime Minister articulated the Royal Government's dedication to the advancement of the educational sector.

"De Montfort's decision to establish a campus in Cambodia is indicative of the institution's confidence in the country's investment potential and the strength of the education sector in Cambodia. The establishment of De Montfort will serve as a catalyst for the higher education sector in Cambodia, stimulating competition and innovation. This will contribute significantly to the value of higher education in the country" he stated.

According to Samdech Thipadei, the decision of De Montfort University to establish a branch campus in Cambodia was based on an appreciation of the value placed on education and higher education in Cambodia. De Montfort University observed the influence of education on the Kingdom's development and the Royal Government's sustained emphasis on enhancing quality, expanding access, and promoting internationalisation. Additionally, it recognised the presence of a dynamic and engaged youth population, one that is actively focused on self-development and, crucially, engaged with the communities they inhabit and the broader society.

In the words of H.E. Dominic Williams, the UK Ambassador to Cambodia, this university will play a pivotal role in equipping the next generation of Cambodian professionals with the skills necessary to drive the country's continued economic growth and development. Additionally, it will serve as a conduit for fostering collaboration between the UK's higher education sector and the global community, positioning Cambodia at the forefront of innovation and fostering mutual benefit.
