In January 2025, Cambodia's trade volume reached more than $5 billion, with exports of $2.3 billion and imports of $2.8 billion.

However, the trade deficit with China continues to widen, while the trade balance with the United States shows a surplus. The General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) reported a differential coverage of 83.9% between exports and imports, with a deficit of $444 million for the first month of the year.

In January 2025, Cambodia exported $103 million worth of goods to China and imported $1.5 billion. The trade deficit with China reached 1.3 billion dollars, which shows that Cambodia is more dependent on Chinese products.

Cambodia's trade balance with the US remains in surplus, with the US a key export market worth $868.7 million in January. In 2024, the US was Cambodia's largest export market, worth almost $10 billion, with China accounting for $1.7 billion in exports and imports reaching $13.4 billion.
