Cambodia & Economy: Americans are interested in Kingdom's agricultural products

Patrick Murphy, representative of an American trade delegation, is leading a trade mission to Cambodia, which includes five companies exploring investment opportunities and seeking partnerships to export Cambodian agricultural products to the American market, such as cashew nuts, rice, pepper and dried mangoes.

The delegation intends to encourage further cooperation in the Kingdom's education sector. One American company has even decided to set up a representative office in Cambodia to help Cambodian students wishing to pursue higher education in the United States.

The Cambodian PM welcomed the interest shown by American companies in investment opportunities, in facilitating the export of Cambodian agricultural products to the United States and in promoting cooperation in education in Cambodia. He emphasised the Royal Government's commitment to prioritising the agricultural sector through measures such as tax incentives, modernising agriculture, deploying local technical agents, establishing modern farming communities and improving logistics and infrastructure, with the aim of reducing costs and increasing the competitiveness of Cambodian agricultural products.

Prime Minister Hun Manet also encouraged the US business delegation to engage further with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to capitalise on investment and business opportunities in agriculture, education and other potential sectors in Cambodia.
