Cambodia & China: $42.5 million to promote cooperation in clean energy and connectivity

Cambodia and China agreed to continue promoting cooperation in a number of key areas, including “clean energy, infrastructure connectivity and people-to-people connectivity”.

The agreement was concluded between Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, during their bilateral talks in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on the evening of October 10, on the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and associated summits.

The two leaders also expressed their satisfaction with “the good relations and cooperation between the two countries, which have reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership”.

H.E. Li Qiang reaffirmed China's continued support for the development path in line with Cambodia's actual situation, and pledged to encourage more Chinese investors to come to Cambodia. With regard to infrastructure construction, China continues to help Cambodia develop its infrastructure with an additional subsidy of 300 million yuan - 42,455,633.86 USD.

In addition, China has pledged to work more closely with Cambodia to develop a master plan for the Fish and Rice Corridor and the Industrial and Technology Corridor, in order to stimulate the import of more Cambodian agricultural products into the Chinese market.

In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and people for their continued support for Cambodia's socio-economic development, and thanked them for providing subsidies for infrastructure construction in Cambodia.
