Cambodia Angkor Air plans to expand direct flights with China

Zhan David, CEO of Cambodia Angkor Air, met with Minister of Tourism Huot Hak at the Ministry of Tourism on October 16. During the meeting, he announced that the airline plans to increase and add direct flights between cities in China and Cambodia in 2025. The airline also plans to increase domestic flights to contribute to the recovery of Cambodia's tourism sector by providing easier travel options for international tourists, especially Chinese visitors to Cambodia.

During the meeting, David also pledged to continue promoting Cambodia's tourism potential to the Chinese people and mentioned plans to organize business forums with Chinese investors to attract more investment to Cambodia.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, from January to July 2024, Cambodia received a total of 3,742,230 international tourists, an increase of 23.2% compared to the same period in 2023. Among them, 538,834 tourists were from China, an increase of 47.7% compared to the same period last year.

According to the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE), the total trade volume between Cambodia and China from January to the end of September was $11.15 billion, an increase of 22.5% compared to the same period last year when it was $9.1 billion. Of this, Cambodian exports to China totaled $1.28 billion, an increase of 20.8%. Imports from China were valued at $9.87 billion, an increase of 22.7%.
