Cambodia Angkor Air launched its first direct flight between Phnom Penh and New Delhi on Sunday.

The flight departed Phnom Penh International Airport on Sunday afternoon and took four and a half hours to reach its destination.

The airline operates four weekly flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday using Airbus A320 aircraft.

According to Mr Havannall, Cambodia Angkor Air plans to increase flights to every day by October this year if market demand is high.

The flight departed Phnom Penh International Airport on Sunday afternoon and took four and a half hours to reach its destination.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that the launch of the direct flight would contribute to enhancing trade activities and air transport between the two countries.

"This inaugural direct flight will significantly enhance social, cultural and economic ties, particularly in the tourism sector, between Cambodia and India," Mr Savoeun said.

Coinciding with the Cambodia-India Tourism Year 2024, the new route is expected to significantly boost tourist arrivals to both countries.
