APSARA National Authority is organizing a boat ride service for tourists at the North Baray or Neak Poan Baray. Mr. Tes Sothy, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Development and Culture, said that the purpose of this initiative is to develop tourism in the area and create job opportunities for the local community.
The boat tours will offer visitors the opportunity to see rare wildlife and birds, as well as capture beautiful pictures and enjoy the sunset. The APSARA National Authority has been planning to establish this boat tour community since 2017, but the project was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in early 2022, the authority initiated a rescheduled tour with the support of GIZ and UNESCO.
The North Baray, which includes the Preah Khan Temple, was built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. The boat tour will provide a unique experience with fresh air, wildlife, and a temple in the middle of the baray. Visitors can expect good service and safety throughout the tour.
National and international tourists interested in taking a boat trip at the North Baray can purchase tickets by contacting 092 65 35 10.
