Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) aims for port and logistics infrastructure investment in Cambodia

On tuesday, a delegation from Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., led by its President, Capt. Sandeep Mehta, was received by H.E. SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), at the CDC's headquarters.

In his opening remarks, H.E. SUN Chanthol extended a warm welcome to the delegation's visit, which he described as an opportunity for them to gain insights into Cambodia's potential as a prospective investment destination.

Furthermore, the CDC first vice president informed his guests about Cambodia's favourable investment environment, as well as the Royal Government of Cambodia's support, the CDC's coordination, peace, political and macroeconomic stability, and so forth.

Furthermore, he discussed Cambodia's development plan, particularly with regard to port and logistics infrastructure, which are pertinent to the investment targets of Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd.

In return, Capt. Sandeep Mehta thanked H.E. SUN Chanthol for disclosing the aforementioned information and requested close coordination from the CDC so that the company could conduct a comprehensive study and evaluate the potential investment opportunities in port and logistics-related infrastructure in Cambodia.

The company's presence across 13 domestic ports in seven maritime states (Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha) represents the most extensive national footprint, with enhanced hinterland connectivity. The port facilities are equipped with the latest cargo-handling infrastructure, which is not only of the highest quality but also capable of accommodating the largest vessels calling at Indian shores. The ports are equipped to handle a wide range of cargo types, including dry cargo, liquid cargo, crude oil, and containers.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) operates three logistics parks through its subsidiary, Adani Logistics Ltd. These are located at Patli in Haryana, Kila-Raipur in Punjab and Kishangarh in Rajasthan. The Adani logistics business is experiencing rapid growth, with an annual capacity of 500,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).

Over time, APSEZ has developed into a provider of integrated port infrastructure services, with the Mundra SEZ in Gujarat serving as a notable testament to this evolution. Spanning 8,000 hectares, the Mundra Economic Hub offers a range of investment options, including the largest multi-product SEZ, Free Trade and Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) and Domestic Industrial Zone.

The company's integrated services across three verticals (ports, logistics and SEZ) have enabled it to form strategic alliances with leading Indian businesses, establishing APSEZ as a dominant player in the Indian port sector.

In addition to its proficiency in providing comprehensive logistics solutions, APSEZ has also been recognised for its operational excellence, cost-effective operations and strategic acquisitions, which have led to a certified 'Great Place to Work' status in the 2021-22 financial year. The company is supported by a youthful and dynamic workforce, which enables it to achieve greater heights.
